General

It is advised the application is completed at least 5 days prior to their expected arrival date in to India. Keep in mind that Standard processing takes up to 4 business days. Expedited: 1-2 days.

All major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover) accepted. Paypal is also accepted to pay for the e-visa fee.

All transaction executed to pay the visa fee, including credit card transactions, are processed via PayPal's highly secure merchant processor.

The eVisa is valid for entry through 33 designated entry ports.

The application can only be refunded if the application hasn't been submitted to the Government of India (20 USD termination fee will be deducted per applicant).

If the application is denied, the fees are non refundable. If the application is approved, and the applicant decides to cancel his/her application, the fees are non refundable.

Tourist Visa: Valid for a 30 or 60 day maximum stay in India - double or multiple entry (30 day, 1 year and 5 year visa available).

After the application is finalized and approved, an email will be sent with the document attached as a .pdf file. Once received, print and store with travel papers. Official will ask to see the document in India.

There is no need to re-apply for a new visa. As long as the visa to India is still valid, you can travel to India. Make sure you travel with the old passport to show that you have an existing visa.

Check status of an application

Once the application has been received (including Part 2) , processing can take up to 4 business days or 2 business days if expedited services was selected. The eVisa document is delivered to the email which was used to make the payment. That address is considered the main account email and all communication is sent there.

Reasons you application could be delayed or on hold:

  • Image of Self is too blurry.
  • Passport Image is too blurry, or is in black and white.
  • Image(s) submitted had a file size of 0 KB (corrupted file).

If any of the above conditions were met, you should of received an email from us requesting a new image. If you feel the images submitted were acceptable and your application has exceeded 4 business days or 2 business days, respectively, please contact us immediately.

  • 173 USD* Valid for 1 Year from date of issue - multiple entries allowed.

Application Requirements

In order for the eTourist Visa to be finalized, the applicant will need to upload the following:

1. Passport Image. The page where all the applicants information is displayed (passport number, dob, name, etc).
2. Image of Self. Needs to be a recent photo of the applicant.

The applicant will be directed to the second part of the visa application after the payment is successfully captured. The second part of the application is where the documents will be uploaded. The applicant will also receive an email with a link to finish the second part in case more time is needed (all formats accepted for image uploads).

Note: If the applicant doesn't have the images ready to upload, he/she may use their mobile device to snap a picture of themselves and the passport. The photo image must be clear and the passport image must be legible.

Visitors that are from a Yellow Fever impacted nation must carry a Yellow Fever Vaccination Card when traveling to India. Failure to comply may result in quarantine for 6 days upon arrival to India.

After the payment is captured, the user will be directed to finalize the application by submitting additional information. Keep in mind the applicant will be able to resume the application at a later time if more time is needed. A copy of the second part will be emailed to the applicant.

Eligibility

1. International Travelers whose sole objective of visiting India is recreation, sight-seeing, casual visit to meet friends/relatives, Yoga program, short term business visit, and medical treatment.

2. The passport should have at least two blank pages for stamping by the Immigration Officer, and the passport should have at least six months validity from the date of arrival in India.

3. International Travelers should have return ticket or onward journey ticket; with sufficient money to spend during his/her stay in India.

4. International Travelers having Pakistani Passport or Pakistani origin are not eligible for eVisa, and will to apply for regular Visa at Indian Mission.

5. eVisa is not available to Diplomatic/Official Passport Holders or Laissez-passer travel document holders.

6. Not available to individuals endorsed on Parent's/Spouse's Passport i.e. each individual should have a separate passport.

7. Not available to International Travel Document Holders.

The e-Visa is only available to nationals of United Kingdom (British Citizens). However, its not available to British Subject, British Protected Person, British Overseas Citizen, British National (Overseas) and British Overseas Territories Citizen.

A regular visa will be needed if applicant is a British Subject, British Protected Person, British Overseas Citizen, British National (Overseas) or British Overseas Territories Citizen.
